Review: Bliss Kiss PURE NailOil

Hey everyone,

I decided to do a review for my first proper post on my blog (one that is not the introduction.. ;)

If you frequently paint your nails like me, always wanting to try new polishes and new ideas, you tend to put your poor nails and cuticles through a lot..!
I use a cheap acetone-free nailpolish remover from the drugstore to take off my polish, just because up until now it's the best one I've come across so far. I'm very impatient, so I can't be bothered scrubbing at my nails for ages to get every last bit of polish off.. This stuff I use is pretty strong (and stinky) and does the job pretty well. But it doesn't seem to be too gentle to my cuticles if you know what i mean.. I'm still going to stick with it until I've found something that works just as well ;)

So to make up for the harsh treatment with my polish remover, I try and keep my cuticles well moisturized. I use cuticle oil and hand creams at a regular basis and I am actually quite happy with my products and my routine.
Still I wasn't completely satisfied and wanted to see what else was out there that I hadn't tried, and I came across the Bliss Kiss PURE NailOil.

It was created by a lovely girl called Ana, you can learn all about her on her site http://www.nailcarehq.com/ which is where I ordered the NailOil from. She has a lot of interesting tips and tricks too, she sure is a girl on a misson for perfect nails!

I read about the NailOil on her site first, wanting to make sure I really wanted to try it. There were a lot of positive things said about the product, but what really got me were the ingredients:

  • Jojoba Wax Ester
  • Grape Seed Oil
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Tea Tree Oil
  • Vitamin E Oil
  • Vitamin A Oil
  • Essential Oil Blend
It contains no chemicals, which for me was a huge plus as I am already rubbing in lots of those when removing my polish..! Not only is it supposed to make the skin around your nails soft and healthy, but it is supposed to make your nails strong and healthy, too!

So this is the kit that I chose to try out:

It contains a bottle of the NailOil, as well as a NailOil Pen for on the go. I paid $19,99 for the product and $9,45 for shipping, so a total of $29,44 - and it's worth it!

You're supposed to do a three day trial in which you apply the NailOil to your nails a few times each day. I could only do that if I stayed home the entire weekend, because I hardly ever leave the house without polish on my nails (let's get real here), but I did treat my nails with the oil for two days in a row.
It works best on naked nails, but you can also apply it for your cuticles if you have on polish. I use the bottle at home and a little bit of that oil goes a long way! I put a tiny bit on each nail and then distribute it over and around my nail using the brush. The cool thing is, the oil is absorbed by your skin and your nails in about 5-10 minutes and they feel and look great! Other cuticle oils i've used tend to not sink in at all and leave your hands grasy, putting grease marks on everything you touch. Not this stuff once it has sunk into your skin and nails though!

You can't see properly (because my phone wouldn't focus), but the sticker on the lid says "CRI" which stands for "crisp", which is the signature scent for the NailOil. I thought I'd give it a try, as the reviews said the scent was really nice.
It is a lovely citrus kind of smell and I am not complaining, but as I use the oil quite often, I've gotten a little over it and now kind of wish I had gone for the scentless version. Still I can take it and will keep on using it! :)

The pen is really handy for on the go, I throw it in my purse and use it during the day at work, when I have 2 minutes to spare and my cuticles are looking particularly dry.
You just have to twist the back part of the pen and the oil is pushed into the super soft bristles, so you can brush the oil on to your cuticles (and nails).
I'm trying to not use it that much, because I'm not sure I will be able to fill it up with the bottle I bought with it. But it's still a handy thing to have in your purse!

The kit also came with some instructions on how to use everything, which I really liked. That way you can make sure you get the best results! And also there are tons of instructions and helpful tips on Ana's website http://www.nailcarehq.com/

All in all, I really like this product! If I have a lazy weekend, I'll give my nails a break, take all the polish off and apply the NailOil throughout the day while watching TV, sitting in front of the computer, reading, or whatever I do lounging around. It really has improved the state of my cuticles and my nails feel much stronger and healthier. Also, I think they grow faster now, too! Even if it's only for one day, I like to give my nails a polish break and nourish them with the oil.

I hope you liked my review, if you have any further questions please leave them in the comments and I will try to answer them :)

Lots of love,
Glittr
